I. CALL TO ORDER  
The meeting was called to order by Chair Anne Moore at 3:04 p.m.  
Ex-officio members present: Keith Glindemann (MU Veterans Center), Rob Boone  
(Columbia College), Bailey Norton (Columbia College Recruitment Specilaist & USS  
Columbia submariner) and LT Michael Topica (NROTC - University of Missouri).  
City staff present: Sarah Dresser and Andrea Jira.

II. INTRODUCTIONS  
Introductions were made.  
III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA  
Motion to approve the agenda made by Kelly, seconded by Walker; motion  
carried.  
IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES  
October 25, 2022 Draft Minutes

Motion to approve the minutes from the October 25, 2022 meeting made by  
Koukola, seconded by Anne Clark; motion carried.  
V. OLD BUSINESS  
Mayor Buffaloe letter to CDR Barksdale  
Moore reported that after the last meeting, Mayor Buffaloe sent a letter to CDR Barksdale  
and invited him to Columbia for a namesake city visit (which was tentatively for August or  
September 2023). Since the last meeting, CDR Barksdale has left the USS Columbia, so  
a letter thanking him for his service is requested from the Mayor.  
Walter Lantzy named to Task Force by Mayor Buffaloe  
The group welcomed the new member Walter Lantzy to the Task Force.  
VI. NEW BUSINESS  
Mayor Buffaloe letters request and Namesake City visit invitation  
With a change of command, the group recommended that Mayor Buffaloe write a letter to  
CDR Foster to welcome him as well as invite him to Columbia for a namesake city visit. It  
was noted that the last visit took place in 2017.  
Holiday Cards  
Moore encouraged members to write holiday cards to send to the crew and to turn those  
into her by Monday, Dec. 4 so she could send them in time for Christmas.  
VII. REPORTS  
USS Columbia Deployment (December 2022 - June 2023)  
Moore shared that the USS Columbia was deployed earlier this year through June 2023.  
Change of Command (08/31/2023)  
Moore shared the new Commander Brad Foster photo and biography with the group.

IX. NEXT MEETING DATE  
The group will determine to schedule when needed. Likely early 2024.
