I. CALL TO ORDER  
Chair Anne Moore called the meeting to order at 3:01 p.m.

Introductions were made.  
III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA  
Motion to approve the agenda made by Wischmeyer, seconded by Kelly; motion  
carried.

Motion to approve the November 14, 2023 minutes made by Koukola, seconded  
by Ross; motion carried.

V. OLD BUSINESS  
Mayor Buffaloe letters request and Namesake City visit invitation  
Chair Moore was not sure if the Mayor sent a letter to CDR Foster congratulating him on  
his new command as CDR of USS Columbia and inviting him for a Namesake City visit.

VI. NEW BUSINESS  
CDR Foster and 3 crewmembers visit Columbia, April 17-18, 2024  
A copy of the itinerary for the CDR Foster and 3 crew members visit in Columbia on April  
15-18, 2024 was distributed to the Committee members. Moore provided an overview of  
the itinerary for the four day visit. She reminded the Committee of the 30th anniversary of  
the christening in 2024 and the 30th anniversary of the commissioning in 2025 and  
described plans for a celebration at that time. There is memorabilia from previous visits  
available and the Committee requested that memorabilia be prominently displayed in the  
display cases on the first floor of the city hall lobby, Daniel-Boone Building, during the  
upcoming visit.  
The crew will be presented at the City Council meeting April 15th with a brief welcome by  
Mayor Buffaloe. There will be a meeting April 17th with Assistant City Manager Carol  
Rhodes.  
Reception at Flat Branch, April 17 at 4:30 p.m.  
A reception at Flat Branch will take place April 17 at 4:30 p.m. The Chair reviewed the  
itinerary for the reception. The Mayor will present a Proclamation to commemorate the  
christening and welcoming CDR Foster and crew members.  
VII. REPORTS  
Namesake City Visit scheduled for October 2025  
Namesake City Visit is being planned for October 2025. No further discussion on this  
item.

IX. NEXT MEETING DATE  
The next meeting date will be determined at a later date - prior to the October 2025 visit.
