I. CALL TO ORDER  
Meeting was called to order with committee approval at 1 pm.

V. OLD BUSINESS  
Community Navigation Liaison RFP Update  
Staff updated the committee on the next steps for the CNL RFP and the current status of  
the RFP being awarded to Powerhouse CDC awaiting council approval of funds amended.  
Young Men United Update  
Staff gave update regarding Heart of Missouri United Way's interest in developing a  
similar program in Columbia.  
VI. NEW BUSINESS  
Notice of Funding Opportunity from the U.S. Department of Justice  
Staff informed committee of the status of the DOJ grant and the time frame of when they  
can expect updates on the grant process.  
Activate MO Community Safety Initiative  
Staff introduced Rhiannon from Activate MO. Committee asked Rhiannon about charter  
school affiliation with her answer being no affiliation to charter schools. Rhiannon  
expressed interest in community conversations about school safety with parents.  
VII. REPORTS  
Youth Trauma and Gun Violence Inquiry  
Documentary maker wanted to partner with the local OVP for film screening. Committee  
expressed decision to table the potential partnership until more information with the  
documentary maker is available. Committee asked staff to communicate with other OVPs  
to see if any have partnered and to bring information back to next meeting.  
Building Out the Office of Violence Prevention for Future Impact  
Staff updated the committee on potential office staff for the OVP and the need for staff in  
order to continue to be effective.  
VIII. GENERAL COMMENTS BY PUBLIC, MEMBERS AND STAFF  
Several members of the Columbia Public School Board and staff were present at the  
committee meeting: Dr. Jeff Klein, Erica Dixon, Michelle Baumstark, and April Ferraro.  
Dr. Klein stated his desire to join CPS to the efforts of violence prevention in the city and  
wanted to appoint one of his staff to the committee.  
IX. NEXT MEETING DATE  
The next meeting will be set by the selection of the Doodle Poll from the committee.  
Meeting was adjourned at 2:32 from committee approval.
