I. CALL TO ORDER  
City Staff Attendance: Curtis Lichty and Aaron Decker  
Meeting was called to order at 4:00pm by Richard Shanker (Noordsy was running  
late).

Motion to approve agenda.

IV. OLD BUSINESS  
Continue the review from previous meeting of 12-9-2024  
Rick Shanker began discussion with 406.12 Tamper Resistant Receptacles.  
Noordsey arrived during discussion of this item. Current amendments exempt 1  
and 2 family dwelling units through that amendment. Jim Dove asked why 1 and  
2 family are more special than the remaining locations to require them and  
especially compared to apartment buildings. Jim Dove made motion “to accept  
the NEC as written without the 1 and 2 family dwelling amendment that exempts  
them” Dan Shifley 2nd the motion. Discussion occurred and background on the  
amendment was made. Shanker calls to vote, call to vote was passed. Vote on  
Jim Dove’s motion: 2 ayes, 3 nayes. Motion denied.  
Shanker motions to include the 1 and 2 family amendment to exempt them and  
then keep the remaining NEC language as written. Howe 2nd. Vote 5 ayes. Passed.  
422.5 GFCI protection of appliances was reviewed. All agreed to maintain position  
of 2021 review and send the sump pump portion of this code to the BCCC for  
review.  
422.16 (2) (5) was reviewed and committee agreed to recommend removing the  
first sentence and keep the second sentence to maintain current allowance of  
receptacle behind the dishwasher in the same space.  
445.18 was reviewed and approved.  
450.9 was reviewed and approved.  
518.6 Assembly Occupancies. Was reviewed and approved.  
625.54 was reviewed and discussed. It was recommended to review with the 2023  
changes in coming weeks.  
680.22(A)(5) was reviewed and approved.  
690.13(A) was reviewed and approved.  
705.11 (B) was reviewed and approved.
