Brian Connell moved to acknowledge new staff and membership. Introductions
occurred.
2) Discussion of upcoming Code Review
Brian Connell then moved to the next item to discuss the 2024 International Code
Council reviews. He asked what the city involvement would entail.
Mr. Decker responded with city staff would attend review committee meetings and
assist as needed but also to gain helpful knowledge with respect to the position
that the BCCC will take with respect to the code review. John Page then asked
about the process involved and Mr. Decker confirmed that the BCCC will need to
recommend to City Council the desire to review the codes that will be 6 years
newer than the currently adopted codes. City Council will then determine and
issue directive to begin the review if in agreement.
John Page asked about involving the Boone County inspectors and working towards
keeping similarity in the codes adopted between the City and County. Mr Decker
agreed this was a great idea and is willing to participate in facilitating that as
needed. Brian Connell indicated he had already been discussing with Acton at the
County Offices about this.
