I. CALL TO ORDER  
Chair Moxon called the meeting to order at 4:15 p.m.

II. INTRODUCTIONS  
Introductions of new commissioners was made.  
III. APPROVAL OF AGENDA  
Motion to approve the agenda made by Thompson, seconded by Gadsden;  
motion carried.  
IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES  
Motion to approve the minutes from October 14, 2024 made by Froidl, seconded  
by Helmick; motion carried.

Columbia Arts Fund Advisory Committee Membership  
There was discussion about the Columbia Arts Fund for the benefit of the new  
commissioners. We will need two new volunteers to serve. The committee consisted of:  
Kathleen Murphy, James Melton, Diana Moxon, David Spear, and Sarah Dresser. David  
Spear (previous Chair of the Commission on Cultural Affairs) and James Melton will need  
to be replaced. We could vote on this today or table until next month, when we have a full  
12-member group to consider. The item was tabled.

Standing Committee on Public Art  
None to report  
Funding Process Subcommittee  
The Committee met last week and reviewed consideration for a mid-year grant opportunity  
that will be used to distribute the $50,000 remaining in FY25. Overview provided by Chair  
Moxon and handout distributed on summary of approach for this process.  
Nick Cave Recognition  
Chair Moxon gave a report of communications she has had with artist Nick Cave and his  
team.  
Staff  
Columbia Arts Fund Update  
Dresser reported the current balance is $385,020.66  
CoMoGives  
Dresser reported the campaign will kick off Dec. 1 to raise funds for the Columbia Arts  
Fund. OCA will send more information to the Commission. There is a way to create your  
own peer-to-peer campaign if you choose to help raise funds for CAF as an individual  
Columbia Values Diversity Celebration  
Staff reported that nominations for the Diversity Awards are due this Friday, Nov. 15. and  
asked the Commission to consider submitting for an individual or a group. Emphasized  
that we need more individual nominations. New this year is that the public will vote on the  
award winners. Tickets and sponsorships will also go on sale this week.  
Agency Assistance  
Dresser reported that nothing is currently planned at this time but looking at an offering in  
the spring.  
Status of FY24 and FY25 Funding  
Dresser reported that all agreements have been approved for FY25 projects and first  
disbursements made. We have FY24 final reports due from Columbia Community Band,  
Boone County Historical Society, Mid-Missouri Traditional Dancers, Mareck Center for  
Dance, Talking Horse Productions.
